KUALA LUMPUR — The ASEAN 5G & Operational Technology (OT) Security Summit 2025 (5GOT 2025) marked a pivotal moment in the region’s cybersecurity landscape, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators to address the growing need for digital resilience. Held from July 15-17 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the summit responded to a sharp rise in cyber threats across Malaysia and ASEAN.

According to MyCERT’s Cyber Incident Quaterly Summary, Malaysia experienced a 24% increase in cyber incidents in Q2 2025, with fraud-related cases making up 80% of reports. In response, the summit was hosted by Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) and CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM), under the patronage of the Ministry of Digital, with YB Gobind Singh Deo officiating the launch.
