On 25 September 2025, Enfrasys hosted an insightful webinar titled “Navigating the AI Era — A Practical Guide to AI Data Governance with Microsoft Purview.” The session brought together over 160 professionals from various industries, all eager to explore how organizations can adopt AI responsibly while maintaining strong data governance practices.
What Was Discussed:
The session opened with a strategic overview of the current AI landscape in Malaysia and the broader
ASEAN region. Irwin Affendy, Pre-Sales Solution Architect at Enfrasys, highlighted the growing pressure for organisations to adopt AI and the risks of doing so without a solid data foundation. He addressed key
challenges such as:
- The trust gap in AI due to unvalidated or biased data
- Increasing regulatory pressure, including updates to PDPA and the formation of Malaysia’s National AI office
- The need for data clarity, classification, and control to ensure AI systems are safe, auditable, and compliant
He also shared a practical roadmap for organizations to begin their AI governance journey in phases from piloting data catalogues to enforcing sensitivity labels and generating audit-ready reports.
Live Demo: Microsoft Purview In Action
The second half of the session featured a live demonstration by Max Neo, Delivery Manager at Enfrasys.
He showcased how Microsoft Purview can:
- Automatically classify and protect sensitive data
- Prevent data leakage when interacting with AI tools like Copilot, Chat GPT, and Gemini
- Provide visibility to IT admins through dashboards, alerts, and activity logs
- Enforce policies across browsers and devices, even outside the corporate network
The demo illustrated real-world use cases, including how organizations can block sensitive data from being uploaded or summarised by third-party AI tools — a critical step in maintaining data security in an AI -driven workplace.
